Best of all – this new feature is available to everyone, if you’ve joined BoxOfficeHero or not. Since we DON’T send this reminder by email it won’t get lost or delayed – and you won’t feel silly since you WILL remember to buy your tickets as they go on sale.

So let’s say you find an event that’s interesting and you’re really hoping to get tickets when they go on sale -so far so good!
If you’re a genius with a schedule and can remember every detail, perhaps you can remember to come back to your computer and open up the right page at 9:55 in the morning…
The rest of us need a bit of help – fortunately there are calendar programs that are widely used – Outlook, Google Calendar, Hotmail and yes – even iCal (On Macs, iPhones, iPads etc).
This new feature doesn’t require registration – just click twice!
Now if you find an event that has tickets that aren’t on sale yet, look over on the right sidebar and you’ll see this:
Clicking or tapping on that calendar button will bring up a list of services that you can create an event in. For you Yahoo Calendar users please be patient – we’re working out some bugs that make the on-sale time off by hours, but so far everything works well in the calendars we are supporting right now:
- Outlook
- Google Calendar
- Hotmail Calendar
- iCal Calendar
A menu will appear and you can choose which calendar service you want to add the reminder to.
Pick a calendar service and we’ll put the public on sale into your calendar in no time at all!
One more click or tap and your calendar service will appear and let you confirm the event details. The system should include the name of the event, a link to BoxOfficeHero, as well as the date of the show.
By putting calendar reminders only a few clicks away we’re hoping to help more people get their tickets at face value – so they can avoid the sting of going to brokers or eBay for tickets.
Plus as an added bonus if you want to share the event or invite other people to buy tickets with you – you can use the invitation functions in your calendar program to share the event, and invite others!
Yes – we did also take into account timezones and so the reminder *should* be timed correctly regardless of where you are and where the event is going on sale – you should have about 5 minutes to get ready once the timer goes off.
